The UN General Assembly on Tuesday adopted a resolution , in a 91-65 vote with 9 abstentions, demanding that Israel leave the Golan Heights.

“The continued occupation of the Syrian Golan and its de facto annexation constitute a stumbling block in the way of achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace in the region,” the UN said and demanded “Israel withdraw from all the occupied Syrian Golan.”

In addition to the Golan resolution, the General Assembly passed four other measures against Israel's sovereignty as a nation and rightfully owned land. All of the other resolutions were related to Palestinian issues.

The Golan Heights resolution has no legal authority and is solely symbolic.

Although symbolic to man, God in His Word says the land belongs to Israel.

God had gave the city of Golan to the Israelites during their wilderness wanderings  (Deuteronomy 3:1–2).

In the days of Moses, it had been located in the land inherited by the half-tribe of Manasseh (Deuteronomy 3:13; Joshua 13:29–31).  It was set apart for the Levites as “a city of refuge for one accused of murder”  (Joshua 21:27; see also Numbers 35)
