Episcopal clergy supports Planned Parenthood and as "God's work"

A group of liberal clergy who advise the largest abortion provider in the United States have praised employees of the organization for “doing God’s work.” Statements released Wednesday by PP Clergy Advocacy Board attacks what it portrays as “politically motivated, heavily edited, and secretly recorded” videos released by the CMP. The Advocacy Board includes clergy from the United Church of Christ, Episcopal Church and American Baptist Churches as well as clergy from Reformed Jewish and Unitarian Universalist congregations. Secret Side Deal with Iran

Secretary of State John Kerry testified on Capitol Hill today that the U.S. government will not be revealing to the American people the contents of “secret side deals” made with Iran over its nuclear enrichment program. Boy scouts end gay ban

On Monday, July 27, the National Executive Board ratified a resolution that removes the national restriction on openly gay adult leaders and employees.  79% voted in favor of the resolution. The resolution is effective immediately. READ MORE

Kenya tells Obama "no gays"

Dozens of Kenyans rallied in Nairobi on Monday against homosexuality and a lawmaker said U.S. President Barack Obama should not push a progay agenda when he visits the country. "We are telling Mr Obama when he comes to Kenya this month and he tries to bring the abortion agenda, the gay agenda, we shall tell him to shut up and go home," lawmaker Irungu Kangata told the demonstrators outside parliament. Kentucky revokes credentials for calling homosexuality sinful.

The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice  has revoked the volunteer credentials of a local pastor after he did not feel comfortable with signing an agreement not to refer to homosexuality as sinful. “Volunteers shall not refer to juveniles by using derogatory language in a manner that conveys bias towards or hatred of the LGBTQI community. DJJ staff, volunteers, interns, and contractors shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful, or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity,” the “Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity” policy reads. David Wells, a pastor with Pleasant View Baptist Church in McQuady, has been volunteering at the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center for the past 10 years, ministering to troubled youth. But after he stated that he could not sign a new policy enacted last year about homosexuality and transgenderism, his volunteer status was revoked. READ MORE

Greece voters reject bailout

Greece into unknown territory and an uncertain future in the EURO currency Sunday after voters overwhelmingly rejected demands by international creditors for more measures in exchange for a bailout of its bankrupt economy. 61 percent voted "no," while 38 percent for "yes," with 93 percent of the vote counted.
